Bio

Andy Sanchez graduated in 1969 from Castle Park High School where he competed in football and baseball and was selected All Metro Conference in both sports for 1968 and 1969. He attended Southwestern College in 1970 and 1971 where he repeated this feat being selected All Mission Conference in football and baseball for both seasons. He was also selected Junior College All-American in baseball.

After graduating from Southwestern College, Andy played football for the University of San Diego in 1973 and was selected Most Valuable Player. In 1974 he played football for California Polytechnic University Pomona and was again selected Most Valuable Player.

Upon graduation in 1975, Andy played professional football as wide receiver for the World Football League Memphis Southmen. His teammates included Larry Czonka, Jimmy Kiick and Paul Warfield. The team’s quarterback was the Notre Dame Heisman Trophy Winner, John Huarte. He also was a return specialist in the Canadian Football League playing for Edmonton in 1977.

Currently, Andy shares his many talents and experiences with his students serving as the Coordinator of the Sweetwater High School Learning Center and as the Varsity Baseball Coach.
