Bio

Jorge played football, basketball and baseball at Hilltop High School in Chula Vista, California. By the time he graduated in 1992, he had been selected First Team All-Metro Conference in football as a junior and First Team All-CIF San Diego as a senior. His three-year starts as quarterback earn him the distinction as the Second All-Time San Diego Section Career Passing Leader. Impressively, as a junior and senior, Jorge was the number one passer in San Diego Country.

A recruiter’s and coach’s dream, Jorge attended Southwestern College from 1993 to 1995 and was selected to the Second Team All-Mission Conference South as a freshman. Continuing his success, the next year he was selected Mission Conference Co-Most Valuable Player, a true honor. He was also the recipient of the Joe Roth Award, given to a player who displays sportsmanship, character and athletic ability. It was an amazing tribute to a young man, further earning him the respect of his coaches and his teammates.

After graduating from Southwestern College, Jorge continued his education at Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in physical education in mAy 1998. He is set to complete the Master of Science degree in administration from Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

In 1995, while at Bethany, Jorge was selected Quarterback on the First Team All KCAC and Honorable mention All-American while compiling a #2 ranking in Passing (320 ypg), a #1 ranking scoring (51.7 ppg), and #1 ranking in Total Offense in the KCAC and the NAIA, all outstanding accomplishments. Jorge also played in the Arena Football League for the Albany New York Firebirds in 1997 and 1998.

In addition to his many athletic achievements, Jorge has worked with athletes sharing his skills, knowledge, and love of the game. He has coached at Bethany College, Southeast Missouri University, Anderson University in Anderson, Indiana, Charleston Southern University in Charleston, South Carolina, and Eastern Illinois University.
