Already possessing an undergraduate and masters degree, Anna is starting a new chapter in her life as she pursues a second degree in Elementary Education. Kerry explains her decision to return to school and Southwestern, “I love working with children! They are the light to our future! I hope to teach children one day as a certified teacher and help them embrace the joys of learning!” Anna suffered a traumatic brain injury during her Naval service and has competed at the Warrior Games winning seven medals. “I have had to learn to fight the effects of traumatic brain injury and accept my new normal. It has lead me to be a spokesperson for adaptive athletes and veterans. I created an environmental platform called Thriving Green. I started the program where we work with non-profits and collect plastic bottles to be recycled into prosthetics for those in need.”
