MELANIE (OSTBERG) CULUKO
Volleyball/Softball
In 1997 Melanie “Mup” Ostberg, a 5’10” outside volleyball hitter, was selected to the Pacific Coast Conference First Team and was named SWC’s Best All Around and Best Defensive Player. Competing on the softball team in 2000, she earned All-Conference honors as a 2nd year player, Steve Miner’s Coaches Award and hit the line-drive to beat the undefeated perennial state champion Palomar College.
After a long career working for the Chula Vista Police Department, she became Police Chief David Bejarano’s Chief of Staff in 2014.
GARY FICACCI
Football
From 1980-1982 Gary Ficacci played offensive tackle earning him berths on the All-Mission Conference Team and the All-State Team. He played for Long Beach State University and completed his B.A. in Psychology at San Diego State University.
His 27-year career in law enforcement for the San Diego Sheriff's Department and Chula Vista Police Departments as a patrol officer in narcotics, a detective in robbery-homicide, a commander for SWAT, and finally captain and 2nd in charge of the CVPD has been stellar.
OGEMDI “OG” NWAGBUO
Football
A true student-athlete OG is earning his M.A. in Business Administration and is a popular speaker at sports clinics, fundraisers, charity events and school functions, often working with at-risk students.
PAMELA KAY STONE
Softball
A current consultant for universities, she reviews and evaluates pitchers and gives private lessons.
KEN OHLENDORF
Baseball/Basketball
He has parlayed his degree and experiences into an impressive 40-year career in auditing and accounting services.
