After a University of Southern California collegiate, Olympic, International and record setting career, Coach Tonie Campbell returned to USC in 1992 earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications. While attending USC, Campbell assisted in coaching the track team. Campbell’s coaching produced eight Olympians and one Olympic medalist.

In 2002 Coach Campbell became the Head Coach at Southwestern where in his first four years he led the Jaguars to their highest conference finishes in school’s history including four consecutive Women’s Conference Team Champions. Campbell has produced seventeen California State Junior College champions thus far.

To date, Campbell been named Foothill/Pacific Coast Conference Coach of the Year five times and Southwestern College Coach of the Year also five times.
Formerly, Campbell has served as managing Director for USATF’s High Performance Center at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, National Chairman of USATF’s Development Committee and Vice President of San Diego/Imperial USATF Board of Directors.

Highlights of Coach Campbell’s athletic career include being named Team Captain of the USC Track Team, 1981 Recipient of the NCAA Scholar Athlete award, NCAA 60mh champion and in 1982 was voted a member of Runner’s World All-American Team.

Campbell earned three USA Olympic Team (1980, ’84, ’88) berths winning the Bronze Medal in Seoul Korea. Additionally, Campbell has won three World Championship titles and was ranked in the Top-10 for eleven consecutive years by Track and Field News for the 110m hurdle event. In 1990 Coach was inducted into the Heritage Hall of Fame at USC, in 1996 was an Olympic Torch Runner and in 2013 was inducted into the Mt. Sac Relays Hall of Fame.

Tonie has a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Nichols College in Dudley, Massachusetts.
