Correia hits for the cycle and Jameson throws shutout to break school win record for Southwestern

Nicole Correia collected a cycle with four hits in four at bats, as Southwestern College defeated San Diego City College 13-2 on Friday. Correia singled in the first, tripled in the third, doubled in the fourth, and homerun in the fifth.

Southwestern College took an early lead in the first inning. Nicole Correia drove in one when she singled in the first inning. Southwestern College took the lead for good with four runs in the third inning. In the third Yasmine Jameson singled off of Dalen Dull, driving in two runs, Correia tripled off Dalen Dull, driving in one run, and Angelina Guthro singled off of Dull, driving in one run. Southwestern Continued to score five more runs in the fifth inning. With two of the runs scored off of Nicole Correia homerun. Southwestern had 13 hits in the game. Yasmine Jameson earned the win pitching four innings and surrendering two runs and three hits.

Yasmine Jameson broke the school win recorded that was previously tied with herself from 2016 season and Gabrielle Beasley from 2013. Also she didn't allow a single run as Southwestern College defeated Saddleback College 2-0 on Saturday. Jameson allowed just six hits and induced a groundout from Haley Rose to end the game. Yasmine struck out five and earned the win pitching seven innings and giving up no runs. Nicole Correia once again lead the jags to victory as well driving in a run.
