Southwestern shuts out San Bernardino Valley with solid defense

Trudie Nixon had a stellar day in the circle shutting out San Bernardino Valley 2-0 on Wednesday.  Nixon led the Southwestern College to victory on the pitcher's mound allowing only five hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out four and walking none. Southwestern College got things started in the second inning with Rebecca McKown's sac fly scored one run for Southwestern College. Cassie Van Til made a stellar throw catching a fly out and throwing out SBV's runner tagging from second to third to double off the rally to end the inning. SWC collected 11 hits.  Brielle Tyseling, Nixon, and Angelina Guthro all managed multiple hits while Guthro, Nixon, and Tyseling all had two hits to lead Southwestern College.
