McKown continues collegiate career and heads to Mayville State

Rebecca McKown the Mission Bay high school graduate has committed to play for the Mayville State Comets in North Dakota.  The 2 year Southwestern Softball outfield standout had immense promise in her freshman year with a flawless .1000 fielding percentage and a supporting role in the outfield as a righty hitter who is left handed.  In her sophomore campaign Becky hit .253 switching to a lefty hitter improving almost 50 points in her offense and tacking on 4 doubles as an outfield starting threat.  McKown was best known to throw out numerous runners at first base and made the infamous over the head no look catch to help SWC defeat SD Mesa.
