Nixon leads SWC honors with reigning PCAC pitcher of the year award

The #13 Southwestern Jaguars have ended the regular season 25-14 and 13-3 landing the 2 spot in the PCAC and automatic berth into playoffs for the 4th year in a row. The Jaguars had major victories over #4 Santa Ana at the time, #7 Riverside, and Palomar who was ranked #2 at the time.  

Most Valuable Pitcher PCAC:
Trudie Nixon returns with conference honors again this time receiving the Most Valuable Pitcher award going 13-2 in conference with a 1.04 ERA and 45 strikeouts.  She has become one of the most improved (1.81 ERA, 2018) and hardest pitchers to face in the conference.  With her athleticism Nixon also hit a .354 BA with 1 triple, 4 doubles, and 12 RBI's hitting in the leadoff spot.

1st Team-All PCAC:
Erika Anders the Jaguars freshman shortstop was second in conference in batting average hitting .558 behind the conference player of the year Lauren Robinson (Desert).  Anders had 14 RBI's, 8 stolen bases, 4 triples, 3 doubles, .769 Slugging %, with a .942 FPCT and 5 double plays recorded.

Cassie Van Til the starting CF for the jags last year receiving first team honors, received honors again this year as the starter at 3B. In the transition from OF to 3B Van Til hit .520 with a conference leading 31 RBIs, 1 triple, and 7 doubles in the cleanup spot. Last year Van Til hit .420 with 7 RBIs showing a massive improvement in her 2nd season.

2nd Team-All PCAC:
Alyssa Bubar who was the teams starting catcher with one of the strongest arms in the conference batted .429 in the 3 spot, 15 Rbis, and 2 runners caught stealing on only 8 bases attempted out of 16 games.

Brielle Tyseling returns for conference honors again at the 2B position batting .368, 15 Rbis, and credited for 4 double plays for a stellar .987 fielding percentage in 76 total chances slamming the door shut on anything hit to the right side of the field.

Honerable Mention:
Kianna Knoll from Clairemont HS batted a .306, fielding .982 in 109 TC at 1B
