Bio

Lynette T. Zeckua is originally from Tijuana, México, where she completed studies in office
management along with an accounting certification. After moving to the United States, she
became an Independent Contractor for Home Interiors & Gifts, Inc. At this company, she
achieved being the Top Sales Producer multiple times in the state of California. This resulted in
receiving awards such as diplomas, plaques, trips, and cruises. When the company sold and
closed, she enrolled in the ESL program at SWC. After finishing this program, she began
working on completing general education studies.
Proving to be an excellent student, Lynette was included in the President’s Honor List five times.
During the 2005/2006 school period she achieved being the Academic Athlete of the Year and
was nominated to the National Dean’s List (an honor reserved for only half of 1% of national
college students). Additionally, she was a member of the 18 th Annual Student of Distinction
Award Ceremony (only 20 students across all SWC campuses are chosen). Other notable
memberships include the Honors Program, the Puente Project Program, the Phi Theta Kappa
International Honors Society, and the Psi Beta National Honor Society in Psychology.
At SWC, Lynnette has been involved in clubs such as the Psi Beta National Honors Club
(treasurer), the Environmental Technology Club (treasurer), and the Hiking Club. She served as
Vice-President of the IDEAS club and helped undocumented students achieve their objectives.
Her service also extended to being a Senator for the Associated Student Organization (ASO)
representing the School of Wellness, Exercise & Athletics.
During the 2005/2006 school year, Lynnette joined the Intercollegiate Track & Field and Cross-
Country teams. Through hard training she scored in each Foothill Conference Track & Field
Championship meets. Race achievements allowed her to receive the “Jaguar Spirit Award.”
Since finishing participation in the Intercollegiate Athletic Program, she now volunteers as a
coach and driver. In 2003, she achieved 1 st place in the 100m, 400m, 1500m, and 3000m races at
the California State Games. Additional race participation includes Light the Night 5K, Arturo
Barrios 5K, San Diego Turkey Trot 5K, SDTF 4 miles, and the prestigious Dirt Dogs XC Series,
which include 1 st place finishes in corresponding divisions. International experience extends to
5k and 10k invitationals taking place in Mexico (Mexicali, Tecate, and Tijuana) with additional
1 st place wins.
Lynette is a person of integrity whose objective is to help others in realizing their goals and
dreams. She is grateful to SWC for giving her the opportunity to work with its athletes.
