Bio

Alissa Mashburn graduated from Bonita Vista High School in 2000, Southwestern College in 2003, and completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communication from California State University East Bay in 2005. She then completed her Master of Science in Physical Education at Azusa Pacific University in 2008.

While at Bonita Vista, Alissa earned several awards including All-Metro honors, Co-Capitan, and the United States Marine Corps Distinguished Athlete award in 2000. At Southwestern College, she was selected All-Pacific Coast Conference Team 2000. While at CSU East Bay, she was awarded Western Water Polo Association All-Tournament Team Honorable Mention and First Team All American in 2004. In 2005, CSU East Bay placed second in the Division III National Championship.

In 2006-2012, Alissa was the assistant coach for the women’s water polo team at Southwestern as well as an adjunct instructor for the School of Health and Exercise Science. Alissa is thrilled to be coaching at Southwestern again and looks forward to coaching present and future Jaguars at the new Aquatic Complex.
