Bio

Coach Miguel brings a wealth of knowledge and has worked with all levels of athletes from youth to professional level. A Gilroy, CA native, he started of his coaching career working for Infinity Sports Club and Orchard Valley Youth Soccer League back in his hometown. Was named BVAL Coach of The Year in 2020 where he was the coach at Ann Sobrato High School in Morgan Hill, CA for their girls side. Also, his high school team was awarded the Team GPA Award and Team Ethics Award by United Soccer Coaches. 

Coach Miguel is a former volunteer assistant coach from Gavilan College and San Francisco State University where he worked with the Men's side.In addition, he has been a guest speaker to more than 3,000 attendees for one of the largest soccer summits by America Scores. He was named to the 30Under30 United Soccer Coaches and was also named to the National Coaching Staff of the Year alongside his colleagues where he was part of the 2020 CCCAA State Championship Women Soccer Team at Hartnell College in Salinas, CA. There he helped the Panthers to a state title and 20 unbeaten winning streak; the most in any CCCAA womens soccer program. 

Coach Miguel has also coach Semi-professional soccer team in Monterrey, CA with the Monterrey Jaguars for the women's side where he helped win a UPSL league title. Coach Miguel is a volunteer ODP scout for CalNorth. Holds a USSF D license. 

Received his Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology from San Francisco State University and obtained his Masters of Science in Sport Pedagogy and Sport  Science from Ohio University.

 

Currently, Coach Miguel is the varsity girls soccer coach at Coronado High School and is working on his Ph.D in Sports Psychology while being a college soccer coach and instructor at Southernwestern College.
