Spring 2023 Softball Recruiting class

Isabella Maltoral

Isabella is in her second year at Southwestern College and is pursuing an associate degree in business management. She is playing at SWC as a first-year college softball player and is planning on transferring to a four-year university to further her academic and softball career. Her biggest goal is to receive a PhD in Business management so she can either start my own business or teach others the logistics and ways of how to run a business. After Covid hit, she didn't play my last two years, however she is excited to restart my softball journey here at Southwestern College.

Madi Villaescusa

Madi decided to go to Southwestern College for her first two years of school to get her associate degree. She is majoring in prep for allied health, to do something in the medical field. She is excited for the opportunity to further my education at a place so close to home as well as play softball with some of the girls she has played against her entire life. Madi attended Steele Canyon High School in Spring Valley CA and played softball there all 4 years. For travel ball, Madi played with the San Diego Renegades. She has lived in San Diego my whole life,

Sami Sandoval

Sami is currently taking courses for Real Estate and hope to get my degree in business. Sami decided to go to Southwestern because she wanted to keep playing and experience college ball. Sami attended Montgomery High school and made the Varsity Softball team as a freshman. She enjoyed playing high school ball because she was able to play with my cousins whom I've been playing softball with since she was 8 years old. Sami has always been confident in playing many different positions in both infield and outfield.

Jordyn Beatty

Jordyn (JoJo) is so excited to continue playing softball at Southwestern and progress her skills as a student athlete. She is currently a math major but is still choosing a specific field. Her goal was to be able to play at the college level while still staying close to home so my friends and family could be able to watch me. She played High school softball for Santana High School and played travel team for Powersurge. While at Santana she received All League First Team, All East County, as well as winning Female Athlete of the Year. Jojo held the highest OBP at .530, and 2nd highest batting average at .400. While in travel, she helped lead my team to victories as the lead batter and shortstop.

Danika is majoring in Nursing and chose to attend Southwestern College because before she even applied, she heard so many great things about their nursing program. Being offered to play the sport she loves most just sealed the deal for her. Danika knew Southwestern was going to be the perfect fit for her. Danika played all 4 years at Helix Charter High School and have played travel ball with Powersurge. Playing at Helix was an unforgettable experience that she will always be thankful for especially since it brought her this amazing opportunity at SWC. Go Jags!
