Southwestern Jaguars Shine at 2024 Cerritos Invitational Pre-Championship Meet
The Men's 100-meter dash would see excellent performances with Dante Pacheco coming in at 11.41 with Emiliano Manjarrez and Giovanni Barrios coming in with 11.63 and 11.65 respectively. Justin Rogers would also hit a personal best of 11.76, winning his heat. Gabriel Dagnino would also make his 100m debut with a time of 11.52, also winning his heat.
Antoine Jones would hit a personal best as well as make the qualifying mark for the Southern California Regional meet in the long jump with a mark of 5.95 meters.
The women's 800-meter run would see Ilya Rangel come in second with a time of 2:56.28 followed shortly by Rasilia Thomas, who came in fourth with a time of 3:13.44.
The 200-meter dash would see another personal best from Justin Rogers with a time of 23.83.
On the throwing side, Thomas Splitter would hit the SoCal qualifying mark in the discus event with a mark of 27.23 feet.
Rounding off what would be a long day, the men's 4x400 meter relay team would qualify for SoCal with a time of 3:30, achieving a personal best in the process.
