Congratulations to 1st year head coach Jorge Perez as PCAC Men's Water Polo Coach of the Year

Congratulations goes to Jorge Perez in his first year as head coach of the Men Water Polo Team.  Jorge was voted PCAC Men's Water Polo Coach of the Year in his 1st year at Southwestern College.  Under his direction his team was able to beat Grossmont College to take 3rd place in the conference. 

A native of La Paz, Mexico, Jorge Perez has been playing water polo for 20 years.  He was a team captain and MVP of the Junior National team and had an eight-year run on the Mexican National Team.

He represented his home country in various international events, including:
• Pan American Games: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 2007; and Guadalajara, Mexico in 2011 (team captain).
• Centro American Games: Mayaguez, Puerto Rico in 2010 (finished third, team captain); and Veracruz, Mexico 2014, (gold medal team).
• FINA Men's Water Polo Olympic Game Qualification Tournament in 2008.
