Southwestern College Women’s Track & Field Standouts in Conference Rankings

In celebration of Women's History Month, Southwestern College highlights the outstanding achievements of its women's track and field athletes, who are making a significant impact in the Pacific Coast Conference (PCC) and beyond. As the season progresses, these athletes have consistently delivered impressive performances, earning top rankings in the conference, Southern California, and among California Community Colleges.
Top Performers in the Pacific Coast Conference
Camila Mendoza – A dominant force in the high jump, she currently ranks 1st in the PCC, meeting both the A & B standard marks for State. She is also tied for 3rd in Southern California and 7th statewide. Beyond high jump, she showcases her versatility, ranking 3rd in the long jump and 8th in the 100m.
Serena Williams – A versatile competitor, she ranks 6th in the high jump, achieving the B standard for state, while also being 5th in the 100m hurdles, 7th in both the 200m and long jump, and 13th in the 100m dash. Additionally, she holds the 16th spot in Southern California.
Illya Rangel – A standout in distance events, currently ranked 7th in the PCC for the 3000m, 8th in the 5000m, and 11th in the 1500m.
Rasilia Thomas – A key distance runner, currently holding onto 10th place in both the 3000m and 5000m.
These athletes have proudly represented Southwestern College and set the stage for even greater success. With upcoming competitions, including the Pasadena Invitational this weekend, the Lady Jaguars are ready to build on their momentum and continue making history.
